Former Sen. Chuck Hagel’s nomination as secretary of defense should be vigorously challenged (“What To Do About Hagel?” Jan. 11).
Not to do so would make pro-Israel Americans indirectly complicit in his actions as defense secretary. Not to do so highlights an unwillingness to fight for what we believe is important. Not to do so provides support to those who do not wish Israel well. Not to do so prevents us from confronting those who call themselves Israel’s friends but with whom we respectfully disagree. Win or lose, it is time to stand up.
