Closing The Economic Gaps In Israel

We were pleased and proud to see Shimon Solomon featured in The Jewish Week (“The New Faces of the 19th Knesset,” JTA story, Jan. 29).

Mr. Solomon is one of two prominent ISEF Foundation activists just elected to Israel’s Knesset; the other is Dr. Adi Koll, a former ISEF International Fellow who founded the University of the People.

Both Mr. Solomon and Dr. Koll have pledged to advance the very same mission to which ISEF has dedicated itself for 36 years, namely: closing Israel’s social and economic gaps by expanding access to higher education. We at ISEF have great hopes for their success in addressing this issue, so critical to Israel’s security and prosperity.

We also thank The Jewish Week for its past article, “Up By their Bootstraps,” from 2005, highlighting Dr. Koll and the extraordinary accomplishments of many other of the 19,000 outstanding ISEF Scholars throughout our 36 years.

President, The ISEF Foundation
