The New York Times has an interesting piece today about how Syria’s army is ill-equipped to fight a civil war. Designed to repel an Israeli invasion, the army is having a hard time holding ground against rebels who have risen up against Bashar Assad’s regime.
There’s a lesson in here for Arab autocracies: Your own people are more of a threat to you than Israel.
