And how simple male creatures can be. I think many men do compartmentalize, they seem to create separate files in their heads for different things: love, sports, work, etc. These don’t overlap.
Women overlap. Women are multi-taskers and overlap everything. So she thinks when he forgets her birthday it means he doesn’t love her. Not so. It’s his filing system. Love or sex does not intersect with his calendar. The men in Ms. Robinson’s column have their separate files, too.
