We’ve been really hoping for a Jewish angle on the crack-smoking Mayor of Toronto story, and alas, thanks to Chabad, our prayers have finally been answered.
Spoiler alert: Nobody’s hitting the pipe in this video. Instead, Rabbi Moshe Steiner of Uptown Chabad shows the mayor how Rosh Hashana is done. It’s unclear whether Ford is under the influence, but he does look painfully uncomfortable and tomato-like as the candles are lit, apples are dipped, and the shofar is blown.
“You know people complain about a lot of things in this world I’ve never heard anyone complain, my life is too sweet,” Steiner says with a chuckle, apple in hand.
