JERUSALEM (JTA) — Three Israeli settlers were indicted for carrying out a “price tag” attack in a Palestinian village.

The three men, residents of the northern West Bank outpost of Chavat Gilad, were indicted Wednesday for a Nov. 19 incident in which two cars were set alight and Stars of David were sprayed on the walls of the village. They were arrested Jan. 19.

The men have been arrested previously.

They reportedly had planned to carry out another attack in a different Palestinian village that the Shin Ben security service said “could have caused a violent conflagration.”

Price tag refers to the strategy adopted by extremist settlers and their supporters generally to exact retribution for settlement freezes and demolitions or Palestinian attacks on Jews.

Also Wednesday, an indictment was filed against four eastern Jerusalem residents for planning to attack a social hall in Jerusalem’s Bayit Vegan neighborhood.

One of the men had worked in the hall and recommended a shooting attack during a large wedding with several hundred attendees, The Jerusalem Post reported.
