JERUSALEM (JTA) — Mortar shells were fired from Gaza at Israeli forces patrolling the border.
The two rounds fired early Monday morning did not cause any injuries, according to the Israel Defense Forces. The incident occurred near the Kissufim crossing on the border fence with the southern Gaza Strip.
The incident followed a similar attack on Thursday, at which time soldiers returned fire.
The IDF had imposed a general closure of the West Bank on Monday fearing violence in the run-up to the Passover holiday starting that evening.
