JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israel’s Davis Cup playoff with Argentina will be held in Sunrise, Fla., after being moved out of Tel Aviv.
The Sept. 12-14 match was ordered out of Israel earlier this month by the International Tennis Federation at the request of the Argentine Tennis Association due to the conflict in Gaza.
On Friday, the Davis Cup Committee approved the neutral venue of the Sunrise Tennis Club proposed earlier in the week by the Israel Tennis Association. Israel, which lost an appeal to keep the match in Tel Aviv, will still serve as host.
Sunrise, a city in south Florida, has large Argentine and Jewish communities.
