JERUSALEM (JTA) — A cease-fire agreement between Israel and the Palestinians is being drawn up after both sides approved an outline, the Palestinian Maan news agency reported.
The final document is being prepared in the wake of Egypt-sponsored negotiations over the past several days, Maan reported Monday evening, citing Palestinian sources.
The Israeli delegation reportedly left Cairo to inform Israel’s Cabinet when it convened at 9 p.m. to discuss the agreement.
The deal is expected to be announced late Monday night as the latest five-day cease-fire expires.
