Whatever disagreements Rabbi Steven Pruzansky may have with The Jewish Week or its editor, Gary Rosenblatt, his comparison of this newspaper with the vile, anti-Semitic Nazi rag Der Stürmer was simply unacceptable.
I am tempted to say that Rabbi Pruzansky has reached a new low, but there are so many other despicable examples in his repertoire that I’ll simply say that these comments are a disgrace.
It is unacceptable because we all know what the Nazis were about, and it’s unacceptable because Mr. Rosenblatt is an honored member of the Jewish community and a man of deep Jewish belief and commitment. And The Jewish Week is an important and valued arm of the American Jewish community.
It is about time that more people in the community speak out against such vicious comments.
