(JTA) — Dave Goldberg, the CEO of Survey Monkey and husband of top Facebook executive Sheryl Sandberg, has died.

Goldberg died suddenly on Friday night. He was 47. The cause of death was not disclosed.

Goldberg’s brother Robert announced the death on Saturday morning.

“It’s with incredible shock and sadness that I’m letting our friends and family know that my amazing brother, Dave Goldberg, beloved husband of Sheryl Sandberg, father of two wonderful children, and son of Paula Goldberg, passed away suddenly last night,” he wrote on Facebook.

Goldberg and Sandberg, the chief operating officer of Facebook, were married in 2004 and have two children.

Goldberg joined Survey Monkey, an online cloud-based company that helps organizations conduct surveys, in 2008. He founded a music company called Launch Media, which was bought by Yahoo in 2006.

Working at Capitol Records, he came up with profitable ideas such as selling music CDs to Starbucks and the company’s Beatles catalog on CD.

Robert Goldberg asked the public to respect Sandberg’s privacy and called on people to post their memories and pictures of his brother to David Goldberg’s Facebook page.
