Regarding “A Serpent In Catskills ‘Garden,’” (July 10): My husband and two sons and I went to the Catskill Mountains from 1969 to 1980, and back then I used to hear “oh, the Jews are back.”
I am not Orthodox but I am Jewish. I would go to the supermarket and have to deal with negative remarks all the time. I would say to the people, “we bring plenty of business here every summer, you should be happy we are here … deal with the traffic, we do in the city all the time,” and “but you smile when we bring the money.”
