It would be nice if our elected political leaders read the Iran nuclear agreement before they attacked it and the international negotiators and allies that brought it forward for their review and approval (“A Deal With The Devil,” Editorial, July 17).
Debate can be good, but attacking the agreement without a better option to keeping Iran from getting nuclear weapons is ludicrous and pathetic. The critics talk of the past and of their mistrust. They also fail to mention that the fact that the international coalition that employed the sanctions will disband and Iran would be free to pursue their “desires.”
The deal may not be perfect but it does set in place a program to control “the Iranian issue” for years to come while we seek a better relationship with the country, and the people of Iran.
