IDF chief meets top US military commander in Brussels

Gadi Eisenkot traveled to the Belgian capital Monday in the midst of a multi-day security lockdown over threats of an imminent terrorist attack.

(JTA) — Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot and the top United States military commander in Europe met in Brussels.

Eisenkot met on Monday with Philip Breedlove, who serves as both the commander of US forces in Europe as well as the supreme allied commander of NATO, according to Israeli media reports.

The substance of the meeting has not been publicly disclosed.

The meeting took place as Brussels endured several days of security lockdown over concerns of an imminent terrorist attack.
