JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israeli troops shot and critically injured a female Palestinian teenager who allegedly was attempting to stab a Jewish West Bank settler near Hebron.
In an incident Sunday in the Kiryat Arba settlement, the intended victim and alleged assailant struggled before she was shot, according to Ynet.
The Israel Defense Forces confirmed that a Palestinian woman who attempted to stab an Israeli civilian was shot and apprehended by Israeli troops.
The teenager — identified by the Palestinian Maan news agency as a 16-year-old from Hebron, Lama Munthir Hafith al-Bakri — was taken to Hadassah Hospital-Ein Kerem for treatment.
