Congratulations for publishing “Breaking the Silence Draws Massive Fire” (Dec. 25) by Helen Chernikoff. Ms. Chernikoff caught the essence of the emotional and moral strains placed on Israel Defense Forces members as they carry out the mandates of their government, and the bravery of those who have chosen to speak about the issues.
Her article also gave voice to the opposition to Breaking the Silence. I thought that the article was fair, balanced and accurate.
I encourage The Jewish Week to continue to present articles that report on the complexity of the conversations within Israel. Such articles serve to encourage more nuanced conversations here in the United States.
