The more I read the Letter to the Editor from New Israel Fund’s Stephanie Ives (“Flag Controversy,” Dec. 25), the more I realize that left-wing Jews are extremely delusional.
To state that “our community should applaud” PLO Secretary-General Saeb Erekat and Knesset member Aymen Odeh is completely living in a fantasy world. Only recently, Erekat wrote an Opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal stating that only when Israel elects a leader desirous of peace will there be peace. The PLO has rejected peace overtures throughout the years and has never abandoned its goal to replace Israel with a state of its own called Palestine.
Knesset member Odeh is another Arab leader who is part of the problem, not the solution.
The New Israel Fund is on the wrong side of history. Wake up before the delusional world shatters with a big bang — support your fellow Jew. Unity is more important than applauding the enemy.
