In her essay, “Telling The Truth About Mental Illness” (Opinion, Feb. 26), Ruth Roth shared the heart-rending story of losing her son to a mental disorder. She noted that society has not yet accepted an open and compassionate consideration for our brethren who are afflicted, and called on each of us “to be open about mental illness, a disease like any other, in the same way we are open about illnesses with which we struggle.”
Amen, Ms. Roth.
