Bernie Sanders wins Democratic caucuses in 2 states

Also on Tuesday, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz won the Republican caucus in Utah and U.S. Republican front-runner Donald Trump and Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton won the primary in Arizona.

(JTA) — Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., won Democratic presidential caucuses in Utah and Idaho.

His rival for the party nomination, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, won the Arizona primary. The primary and caucuses were held Tuesday.

“I am enormously grateful to the people of Utah and Idaho for the tremendous voter turnouts that gave us victories with extremely large margins. The impressive numbers of young people and working-class people who participated in the process are exactly what the political revolution is all about. These decisive victories in Idaho and Utah give me confidence that we will continue to win major victories in the coming contests,” Sanders said in a statement.

Also on Tuesday, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz won the Republican caucus in Utah, and Republican front-runner Donald Trump won the primary in Arizona.

Voters in Alaska, Hawaii and Washington will cast their primary ballots on Saturday.
