(JTA) — At least two people were killed and at least 16 injured in a shooting in the parking lot of a South Florida nightclub.

Police have detained three people in the shooting early Monday morning at Club Blu in Fort Myers. The motive is yet unknown, though the FBI has ruled out terrorism, according to Fox News.

The shooting reportedly occurred as parents were picking up their children from the party.

Shots also were fired nearby in a residential neighborhood, where one of the alleged suspects was detained, according to reports.

The attack comes less than two months after a gunman who pledged allegiance to Islamic State killed 49 people and injured 53 at a gay nightclub in Orlando, in central Florida, in what has been called the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.
