On Moving And Moving On

On Gary Rosenblatt’s column, “A Moving Experience” (July 15):

My husband and I are closing on an apartment in New York City. Over the course of the next year, we will clean out our large suburban home to begin the next phase of our lives. I have already begun the incredibly difficult (for me) process of cleaning out old papers, pictures and mementos. I began with the five boxes of photos and other things that have been stacked in my garage for the past five years, left over from when I cleaned out my mother’s apartment. These boxes were filled with those things that I had no idea what to do with and just couldn’t bear to throw out.

Thanks to Gary Rosenblatt for describing his feelings about this experience so eloquently.
