Enough On RJC

Having grown up in the Riverdale Jewish Center and as someone still strongly tied to that community, I am dismayed by the irresponsible reporting of this paper (“Financial Woes for Riverdale Congregation,” Aug. 12). At this point Rabbi Rosenblatt (yes, we are well aware that the editor is not related) has resigned, as mutually agreed upon with the shul leadership. There is no question that the rabbi helped many individuals and families over his three decades of service to the RJC, and that he also has a family whose sensitivities need to be respected.

To continuously report on this story and not instead support the rebuilding and healing of a community is mystifying to me. Why does The Jewish Week continue to harp on what should be a closed chapter? And to all those who left the shul, isn’t it time to return and rebuild?
