Your statement that “U.S. recognition” of Israel’s annexation of the Golan Heights “was an unnecessary provocation of the Arab world” was quite shocking (“Is West Bank Annexation Next?” Editorial, March 29).
Since when does the reasonable, correct and long-overdue recognition of Israeli rights constitute an unnecessary provocation? Does anyone seriously believe that the U.S. recognition of Israel’s annexation of the Golan Heights will affect the Arab reaction to President Trump’s peace plan one way or the other? Finally, how many “unnecessary provocations” has Israel been subjected to over the past 70 years?
No matter what The Jewish Week thinks of President Trump, he should be applauded — and certainly not criticized — for doing the right thing.
