“Palestine: What’s In A Name?” (editorial, April 5) completely missed the forest for the trees.
Whether Councilman Yeger was wise or not to excite the anti-Israel furies is beside the point.
What should worry is that it drew such a disproportionate response from New York City’s political leaders. Political capital punishment was meted out for what should, at most, have been considered a misdemeanor. Instead of those labored apologetics, better, more concise advice to readers would have that classic jocular Jewish telegram: “Start worrying. Details to follow.”
