JERUSALEM (JTA) — Islamic Jihad is blaming Israel for an attack on the home in Damascus, Syria, of a senior leader of the terror group.
The airstrike on the home of Akram Al-Ajouri on Tuesday morning came less than an hour after the attack on the Gaza City home of Palestinian Islamic Jihad senior commander Baha Abu al-Ata, who was killed.
Islamic Jihad in a statement on Tuesday blamed the attack in Damascus on “the Zionist criminal enemy,” Reuters reported.
Al-Ajouri escaped harm, but the attack killed his son and his bodyguard, and injured six, Reuters reported.
The Israel Defense Forces has not commented on the airstrike. The IDF in general does not comment on such attacks.
