Israeli psychic may run for Knesset

JERUSALEM, May 19 (JTA) — The Israeli known for his ability to bend spoons using his mind believes he has what it takes to make peace between Israel and Syria. To that end, psychic Uri Geller has said he is considering running for the Knesset in the next general elections in the year 2000. Geller said he may return from his current residence in London to prepare for the elections. If he runs, Geller would join other newcomers from outside the political scene seeking a seat in the Knesset. Among them are cosmetics queen and former model Pnina Rosenblum, who has said she will run on a women’s rights platform.
