Boris Ber was elected president of the Sao Paulo Jewish Community, taking the lead of half of Brazil’s Jewry. The 53-year-old business administrator and longtime activist was elected Wednesday to a 30-month term at the helm of Sao Paulo’s wealthy and influential 60,000-strong Jewish community. “Among our major challenges are also strengthening our affiliated

dialogue that helps detecting their problems and promoting and outreach work
to bring inside those Jews who are apart of the yishuv,” Ber told JTA.
