An Israel helicopter fired three missiles at the control tower of the Gaza Strip’s defunct airport.

Thursday’s strike came after four Kassam rockets were fired at Israel from Gaza earlier in the day. There were no casualties in either incident.

The Israel Defense Forces said the air force fired at three armed men seen in the vicinity of the airport, near southern Gaza’s border with Israel, but provided no further details.

The airport was closed down shortly after the outbreak of the Palestinian uprising against Israel in 2000.

In the Kassam attack, two of the rockets landed near Sderot and two others in open areas in the western Negev. No damage was reported.

The Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for two of the attacks.
