Israel is helping the Palestinian Authority fight epidemics among its agricultural livestock.
The Agriculture Ministry in Jerusalem on Tuesday donated more than 100,000 veterinary immunizations to Palestinian farmers after foot-and-mouth disease outbreaks were reported in Hebron, Ramallah and Jenin.
Israel also handed over 20,000 anthrax vaccines for use among the Palestinian Authority’s sheep and goat herds.
Epidemics can spread easily across the porous boundaries separating Israel, the West Bank and Gaza Strip, so the sides have traditionally been quick to cooperate on counter-measures.
