General Assembly head to visit synagogue

The president of the U.N. General Assembly will visit a New York synagogue.

Srgjan Kerim, the former foreign minister of Macedonia, will be the featured speaker at the Park East Synagogue on Saturday. Also in attendance will be the foreign minister of Australia, Stephen Smith, and some 40 other ambassadors and diplomats.

Kerim’s appearance is timed to coincide with the International Day in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust on Sunday.
