On Monday Barack Obama recalled the turmoil of an uncle who was among the liberators of Auschwitz. Tuesday he clarified that it was a great uncle who had served with U.S. forces that liberated Buchenwald.
Conservative bloggers and the Republican National Committee pounced on the initial comments, but the RNC at least seems to be backtracking to some degree.
