JERUSALEM (JTA) — An Israeli Arab was indicted for the murder of an Israeli-American teenager.

Adwan Farhan 34, of northern Israel, was indicted Thursday in the Nazareth District Court for the slaying of Dana Bennett, then 18, as well as a 27-year-old Czech tourist.

Farhan, who is in prison for the rape of an Australian tourist last year, was charged with murder, kidnapping and rape.

The remains of Bennett, who disappeared in Tiberias in 2003, were found last month. A Chicago native, Bennett had come to Israel to study and live at Kibbutz Tirat Tzvi in 1999.

Her mother lives in Tiberias and her father in Los Angeles.
