The New York Times has the story about how the Obama seder tradition started when he surprised three Jewish campaign staffers in Pennsylvania in 2008 with a friendly "“Hey, is this the Seder?"

A few days earlier, I had interviewed him; the blog link is here, but the audio has disappeared. I remember asking him if he was attending a seder — and he stumbled a little before launching into why Passover was for him the most meaningful Jewish holiday.

So, he was curious, right? Because I asked, right?
