- Eli Cohen, director-general of the Jewish Agency’s Aliyah Department, resigned.
- Daniel Schwammenthal, an editorial page writer and Op-Ed editor for The Wall Street Journal-Europe, was appointed as the director of the American Jewish Committee’s Transatlantic Institute, in Brussels.
- Linda Slucker of West Orange, N.J. was elected as the new president of the National Council of Jewish Women at the organization’s 45th national convention, in Dallas, Texas.
- Amanda Esraelian, 17, of Roslyn, N.Y., became the teen president of NCSY International, the Orthodox Union’s youth movement.
