Simon Klarfeld was named the inaugural executive director of Young Judaea, which is branching off from its longtime parent organization, Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America. Klarfeld comes to Young Judaea following a seven-year stint as executive director of Hillel at Columbia University and Barnard College.
Israel (Izzy) Tapoohi was hired as president and CEO of Development Corporation for Israel/Israel Bonds. Tapoohi founded InQSOFT Ltd., which evaluates early-stage start-ups and provides recommendations to international investors.
Penny Blumenstein was elected as the 16th president of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. A noted philanthropist, she also serves as chair of the Jewish Fund, a legacy of Sinai Hospital in Detroit.
