The Adalah staffer did not go to Geneva

A week or so ago we covered the did she-didn’t she saga of whether a staffer for Adalah, an Arab rights group funded by New israel Fund, would attend an anti-Israel event in Geneva.

The group, BDS-Geneve, never got back to me, but did not pull publicity saying Suhad Bishara would speak at the BDS event. (BDS stands for boycott/divestment/sanctions.)

NIF insisted it was never gonna happen.

NGO Monitor came back, after the Feb. 14 event, with a screenshot from an affiliated group, Collectif Urgence Palestine-Geneve, that billed the speaker as someone whose name could not be mentioned "for security reasons."

Now, Ben Dror Yemini, a Maariv columnist who is probably NIF’s toughest critic in Israel, ends a column chronicling what he depicts as lefty horror stories with this (my translation):

NIF and Adalah were right

Last week, the anticipated participation of an Adalah representative, Suhad Bishara, at a BDS event was reported here. This would have been a grievous departure from NIF’s principles, which — at least formally — oppose BDS. NIF and Adalah both claimed Suhad would not participate, although the organizers made clear to yours truly that she was arriving. And so, on Tuesday evening, the event took place in Geneva. Suhad did not participate. The NIF and Adalah were right.
