More volunteer EMTs ‘on the beat’ — whether male or female — will likely improve response times, ensuring safe deliveries.
North Shore Long Island Jewish hospitals deliver 10 percent of the babies born in New York State. With an increasing number of Brooklynites choosing to give birth at our hospitals’ new women’s pavilions, I look forward to welcoming the new arrivals and the women ‘manning’ the ambulances that deliver them to the hospital.
