Everyone’s favorite bald, brassy Jew, Larry David, may be gracing our TV screens once again in the near future.
At the TCA press tour on July 30, HBO President Michael Lombardo confirmed that David has begun work on a new season of his Emmy-Award winning series, “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
“[He told me,] ‘do you know what this is? This is the next season notebook,’” said Lombardo.
Though on January 7, David told Howard Stern that “the odds are against [another season],” Lombardo disagreed with the Seinfeld creator and said, “I don’t think it’s out of his system.”
The show, whose main protaganist is a fictionalized (and much disagreeable) version of David, hasn’t aired any new episodes since its eighth season concluded in 2011.
With the recent conclusion of David's debut Broadway production, “Fish in the Dark,” he may have more time to devote to his HBO series.
Jeff Garlin, who plays David’s manager and best friend on “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” said at the TCA press tour that he suspected there to be a “ 51 percent chance” of a season nine of the series.
“Larry David is so goddamn rich he doesn’t have to do anything unless it’s good,” he said.
