When asked during a recent appearance in New Jersey if Israel is an apartheid state, former Prime Minister Ehud Barack answered that “the essence of it is true.” Barack doesn’t know what Apartheid is. Israel allows full participation of Israeli Arabs in the political process. In fact, the third largest party in the Knesset is the Arab joint list. For Barack to criticize the Israeli government outside of Israel is something Menachem Begin never did. Begin reserved that right to within Israel.
Barack’s comment is a total betrayal of Israel, the very country he heroically fought for. Israel is not an apartheid state in any sense of the word. The Knesset should censure him for this statement.
