Fresh Ink for Teens and StandWithUs in High School are hosting a writing competition in honor of the upcoming 101st anniversary of the Balfour Declaration on November 2nd.
The Prompt:
The Balfour Declaration publicly affirmed international support for the establishment of a Jewish state, in what we know today as Israel. What about Israel’s story and the story of the resilience of the Jewish people inspires you?
Students may submit their article HERE!
The Guidelines:
- All submissions must be submitted by November 2nd at midnight, EST.
- Please keep all submissions to 500 words or less.
- The contest is open to high school students of all ages around the United States.
The Prizes:
First Place: $300 plus the student’s essay will be published in The New York Jewish Week, online, and on StandWithUs High School social media
Second Place: $200 plus the student’s essay will be published on The New Jewish Week’s website and on StandWithUs High School social media
Third Place: $100 plus the student’s essay will be published on The New Jewish Week’s website and on StandWithUs High School social media
