Having been a victim of sexual abuse and harassment, I welcome, praise and support the efforts of the #MeToo movement (“Hillel Investigating Allegations Against Major Philanthropist,” Sept. 14). Having been a professional and personal friend of Michael Steinhardt for over 20 years, I know first-hand of all of the great work he has done for the Jewish community and causes both in the United States and Israel.
Michael’s unfortunate comments, which I know he regrets, should not minimize the important and ongoing philanthropic contributions he has made for many years. To remove his name from institutions he has funded so generously is wrong.
