On February 24, close to 1000 guests gathered for SINAI’s Annual Benefit Dinner at the Marriott Glenpointe Hotel in Teaneck. SINAI honored Dr. Robert and Shari Alter of Englewood, Dr. Bin and Penina Goldman of Passaic, and Rabbi Michael and Ayelet Hoenig of Fair Lawn, each of whom have helped to raise awareness of SINAI and serve as ambassadors on SINAI’s behalf. Gilles Gade, President and CEO of Cross River, accepted SINAI’s 2019 Community Partnership Award on behalf of his company.

SINAI Schools has gained recognition in recent years for the award winning short documentaries they premiere each year at their dinner. This year’s feature documentary, “And She Called Him Moxé,” tells yet another compelling and emotional story, profiling a very unusual—and exceptionally talented—SINAI student, and redefining the definition of family.   You can watch the film at below or www.sinaischools.org/Moxe, and click through from there to a presentation made by Moxé at the dinner, which drew a standing ovation from the crowd.

Marcy Glicksman, Director of SINAI at RYNJ, spoke movingly of Rachel Schulman, A”H, SINAI’s beloved Associate Director who passed away last year. SINAI also presented a video tribute in Rachel’s memory, created from old interview footage of Rachel herself, in which she speaks of what special education meant to her, and the love she felt for the children of SINAI. Both the presentation and the video featuring Rachel Schulman A”H can be viewed at www.sinaischools.org/rachelschulmanvideo, where you can contribute to the Rachel Schulman Memorial Fund established by her family.

All of the videos and presentations made at the dinner, including the powerful speech made by honoree and SINAI parent Penina Goldman, are available online at https://www.sinaischools.org/dinner/video-gallery-2019.
