A Canadian gentile
who married an Israeli woman and who claims to have been a Mossad agent has
written a book about his experiences.
In “The Volunteer: A
Canadian’s Secret Life in the Mossad,” Michael Ross describes his involvement in
various undercover adventures. In Iran, for example, he says he gathered soil
samples near a nuclear site for analysis by Israeli scientists; and in South
Africa, he claims to have kidnapped and beat two Iranian agents.
Produced by the prestigious
publishing house McClelland and Stewart of Toronto, the book’s story is
“gripping” and “filled with the stuff of spy thrillers,”
according to a review in the National Post. Ross’s co-writer is Jonathan Kay, a
National Post editor.
Israel as a rule does not identify its current or
former Mossad agents.
