Israeli students invited to Qatar

Georgetown University welcomed Israelis to attend its
Qatar campus. James Reardon-Anderson, dean of Georgetown’s branch in the Gulf Arab state, said in an interview
published over the weekend that Israelis were welcome to apply.”We accept people on the basis of their personal ability
and are seeking students from all places, including Israel,”
Reardon-Anderson told Yediot Achronot.

According to the newspaper, studies in the Qatari campus
cost around $35,000 a year, far more than Israel’s state-subsidized
universities. But Israelis at Georgetown in Qatar would have the advantage
of mixing with the Middle East’s future leaders without distractions from
their classes: The conservative emirate, which has low-level ties with
Israel, lacks major places of entertainment.
