Daniel Treiman just pointed out to me that "Lead Me On," the song Herman Cain surrogate Krista Branch labels as "pro-Israel," was originally recorded and co-written back in 1988 by Amy Grant. (Branch says so on her website.)
A number of sources — Wikipedia, SongFacts and this article in The Awl — say Grant wrote the song about slavery and the Holocaust, although I have yet to find an original citation.
Still, "Waiting for the train, labeled with a golden star," suggests that the Holocaust is clearly meant to be inferred.
Notably, however, nothing in the lyrics or in the video refers to Israel.
