(JTA) — A Palestinian man threw acid at a Jewish family of five in the West Bank before he was shot by a civilian while attempting to flee.
Israeli police arrested the Palestinian attacker and took him to the hospital, The Associated Press reported.
The assailant hurled the liquid acid through a car window on Friday afternoon near a checkpoint between the West Bank settlement of Beitar Illit and the Palestinian village of Husan, the Times of Israel reported.
The five members of the Jewish family suffered light burns.
