The first anniversary of the death of Eliezer ben Jehuda, Hebrew lexicographer and protagonist of Hebrew as a spoken language, was the occasion yesterday for a long article in the London Times, describing the wonderful progress of the Hebrew language. This progress is due to the life work of a single man, the writer says, comparing conditions fifty years ago with the present when theatricals, speeches, papers and schools in Palestine and elsewhere have Hebrew for their vehicle.
