In view of the fact that a large stock of unsold wine remains in the cellars of Rishon-le-Zion and Zichron Jacob, it has been decided to use a considerable portion of this year’s grape crop for the purpose of making jam and concentrated grape juice. This was tried last year and proved successful. Thirty-five tons of concentrated grape juice were produced and exported from Zichron Jacob to European, especially to English, markets. A new vacuum machine, valued at ???1,000 has been established in Zichron Jacob.
