Professor Miklaszewski, Minister of Education, representing the Polish Government, attended the funeral of Maximilian Halperin, director of the Artisan School maintained by the Warsaw Jewish community, who died here yesterday at the age of 68.

Dr. Halperin, who was an ardent Polish patriot, was banished by the Russian Government for his participation in the Polish insurrection of 1881. He remained in exile in Siberia for three years. He served as director in several Polish technical schools and was one of the few promoters of technical education in Poland.

The Minister of Education placed a wreath on the grave in behalf of the Government. He eulogized Dr. Halperin and declared that the Republic had lost a loyal son.
