Rabbi Arrested on Charge of Selling Sacramental Wine Permits

Charged with selling sacramental wine permits, Reverend Reuben Katz was arrested today while praying at the synagogue of Am Kodesh Congregation.

Rabbi Katz is accused of selling wine permits to Joseph Bernett, a Chicago wine dealer.

Deputy Marshall came with a warrant to the synagogue when he did not find Rabbi Katz at his home. He was taken to the Federal Court for a hearing.
